Québec City – The Canadian Coast Guard advises the public that the seasonal rescue stations located in Bainsville (Lake Saint-François), Ontario; Pointe-aux-Anglais (Oka), Beaconsfield, Longueil, Sorel and Trois-Rivières, Quebec, are beginning to wrap up their annual summer activities and will be operating on the following schedule:
These bases have been operational since May 31 – the start of the peak boating season on lakes and rivers in Quebec.
Marine emergencies can be called in to the Canadian Coast Guard's Marine Rescue Sub-Centre 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, at 1-800-463-4393 or the Marine Communications and Traffic Services Centre by VHF radio (channel 16) or by dialing *16 on a cell phone.
