Ottawa – Today, 184 outstanding public servants were recognized during the annual Public Service Award of Excellence ceremony held at Rideau Hall. The awards were presented by His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Wayne G. Wouters, Clerk of the Privy Council.
The Public Service Award of Excellence is a non-monetary award announced annually during National Public Service Week. The award was given in the following 13 categories:
- Outstanding Career;
- Management Excellence;
- Innovation;
- Excellence in Citizen-Focused Service Delivery;
- Employment Equity and Diversity;
- Official Languages;
- Excellence in Policy;
- Youth;
- Exemplary Contribution Under Extraordinary Circumstances;
- The Joan Atkinson Award;
- Scientific Contribution;
- Large-Scale Special Event or Project; and
- 60 Years of Service Special Award.
