KINGSTON, Ontario, September 29, 2013 – Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) wishes to advise motorists of overnight closures on the LaSalle Causeway from September 30 to October 4, 2013, between 12:01 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. The Causeway will remain open to emergency vehicles and pedestrians. Marine traffic will not be affected.
These closures are required to accommodate a series of precise measurements of the lift bridge in various lift positions. This is the second round of measurements. The next round will be conducted in November and two further rounds will take place in 2014. The schedule may change due to inclement weather or logistical requirements.
Safety is a top priority for PWGSC and we are committed to ensuring the continued integrity of the bridges we manage. We apologize for any inconvenience these closures may cause and thank everyone for their understanding.
