Ottawa – On behalf of the Honourable Julian Fantino, Minister of Veterans Affairs, Royal Galipeau, Member of Parliament for Ottawa—Orléans, will join Canadian Merchant Navy Veterans to mark Merchant Navy Veterans Day.
The memorial service will include a wreath-laying ceremony and a tolling of HMCS Carleton’s naval bell for the Merchant Navy ships lost during the First and Second World Wars
Merchant Navy Veterans Day is marked each year on September 3. This year’s ceremony will take place on September 8 to coincide with the Canadian Merchant Navy Veterans Association’s Annual General Meeting held in Ottawa.
