Prime Minister Stephen Harper spoke this morning with Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany. Prime Minister Harper congratulated Chancellor Merkel on her impressive victory in Germany’s federal election on September 22, 2013.
The two leaders underlined their shared priority of concluding a Canada-EU Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) as a means to stimulate jobs and growth on both sides of the Atlantic.
Both leaders highlighted the importance of the bilateral relationship between Canada and Germany and committed themselves to continuing their close collaboration to further strengthen and deepen this partnership.
