OTTAWA—His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will be joined by the Clerk of the Privy Council, Secretary to the Cabinet and Head of the Public Service, Mr. Wayne G. Wouters, to present the Public Service Award of Excellence 2013, at Rideau Hall, on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at 10 a.m.
During the ceremony, 29 awards will be presented to recipients from departments and agencies from across Canada in the following categories:
- Outstanding Career
- Management Excellence
- Innovation
- Excellence in Citizen-Focused Service Delivery
- Employment Equity and Diversity
- Official Languages
- Excellence in Policy
- Youth
- Exemplary Contribution Under Extraordinary Circumstances
- The Joan Atkinson Award
- Scientific Contribution
- Large-Scale Special Event or Project
- 60 Years of Service Special Award
The Public Service Award of Excellence recognizes employees who have demonstrated excellence in achieving results for Canadians and who reflect the priorities of the public service, while demonstrating key leadership competencies.
