Ottawa – Royal Galipeau, MP for Ottawa–Orléans and Bob Chiarelli, MPP for Ottawa West–Nepean, will join Mayor Jim Watson and City Councillors at an event to mark the start of the Confederation Line transit tunnel excavation.
10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The Mayor and his guests will complete the assembly of the Road Header – the machine used for mining through solid rock.
The City of Ottawa will also host a Technical Briefing for City Council and members of the media. Senior Staff from Planning and Infrastructure, Rail Implementation, Transit Services and Rideau Transit Group will provide a detailed briefing and answer questions related to the design and construction of the Confederation Line transit project.
1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Parking is available onsite at both locations and a media box will be provided.
