Prime Minister Stephen Harper met today with Park Geun-Hye, President of the Republic of Korea, on the margins of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Meeting in Bali, Indonesia. This was their first bilateral meeting.
The meeting began with both leaders noting the importance of the Canada-Korea relationship and that 2013 marks the 50th anniversary of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
In the meeting, both leaders took stock of negotiations related to the Canada-Korea Free Trade Agreement and agreed to re-engage immediately with the objective of concluding the agreement by the end of 2013.
