HAMILTON, Ontario, November 14, 2013 – Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) wishes to advise motorists and pedestrians that the Burlington Canal Lift Bridge, located in Hamilton, Ontario, will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic nightly, from Monday, November 18, 2013, to Thursday, November 21, 2013, between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Marine traffic will have limited access at this time.
These closures are required to accommodate repairs to the lift mechanisms and protective surfacing of bridge structures. The schedule may change due to inclement weather or logistical requirements.
Safety is a top priority for PWGSC and we are committed to ensuring the continued integrity of the bridges we manage. We apologize for any inconvenience these closures may cause and thank everyone for their understanding.
