KINGSTON, Ontario, November 19, 2013 – Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) wishes to advise motorists of an upcoming overnight closure on the LaSalle Causeway, on November 20, between 12:01 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. The Causeway will remain open to emergency vehicles and pedestrians. Marine traffic will not be affected.
The closure is required to accommodate a series of precise measurements of the lift bridge in various lift positions. This closure was rescheduled because of weather experienced during the third round of measurements. The schedule may change due to inclement weather or logistical requirements.
Safety is a top priority for PWGSC and we are committed to ensuring the continued integrity of the bridges we manage. We apologize for any inconvenience this closure may cause and thank everyone for their understanding.
