Luncheon for the National Silver Cross Mother
Their Excellencies will host a luncheon at Rideau Hall to pay tribute to the 2013 National Silver Cross Mother, Ms. Niki Psiharis, whose son, Sergeant Chris Karigiannis, was killed by an improvised explosive device, on June 20, 2007, in Afghanistan. Each year, the National Silver Cross Mother is chosen by The Royal Canadian Legion to attend the National Remembrance Day Ceremony on behalf of all Canadian mothers who have lost children in the service to their country.
