Parish Municipality of Notre-Dame-des-Pins, Quebec, December 18, 2013 – Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, the Honourable Maxime Bernier, Member of Parliament for Beauce and Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism, and Agriculture), today announced that the Parish Municipality of Notre-Dame-des-Pins has been granted funding for the modernization of its community infrastructure.
“By supporting this project to renovate the Notre-Dame-des Pins recreation pavilion, our government is fulfilling its commitment to help improve the quality of life in our communities,”
said Minister of State Bernier.
The Parish Municipality of Notre-Dame-des-Pins will use this funding from Canada Economic Development to modernize its recreation pavilion by, among other things, enlarging the building, bringing the kitchen up to standard and installing both an access ramp for persons with reduced mobility and an air conditioning system. Various works will also be carried out on the plumbing, electrical and ventilation systems and the building’s doors and windows will be replaced. All of these improvements will help make the pavilion more accessible and functional to its diverse user groups.

commented Pierre Bégin, Mayor of the Parish Municipality of Notre-Dame-des-Pins.
This assistance, granted in the form of a $406,250 non-repayable financial contribution, has been awarded through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).
The CIIF has a nationwide budget of $150 million over two years, including $31.2 million to be invested in Quebec, where the Agency is responsible for its administration. The Fund aims to support the rehabilitation and improvement, including expansion, of existing community infrastructure.
