Prime Minister Stephen Harper today issued the following statement to mark the 50th anniversary of Massey College in the University of Toronto, following a tour of the College:
“On behalf of Canadians, I am delighted to extend my warm congratulations to Massey College, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
“It gives me great pleasure to be here today to tour this world-class institution and join with members of the College in celebrating this significant milestone. For 50 years now, members of the Massey College community have been catalysts in advancing cutting edge knowledge in Canada in a range of fields, with the contributions of some of our nation’s best and brightest.
“I am sure that this remarkable academic institution will continue to produce the ideas and minds that will allow Canada to remain a leading innovator and competitor on the world stage.”
