Today, the Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, announced the re-appointment of Ms. Leslie E. Galway as Governor representing Newfoundland and Labrador on the Council of Governors of the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS).
Ms. Galway is the Chief Executive Officer for the Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission of Newfoundland and Labrador. She also holds a number of voluntary appointments, including sitting on the Ministerial Advisory Council on Occupational Health and Safety, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as a number of positions with the Association of Workers’ Compensation Boards of Canada.
Ms. Galway holds an Institute of Corporate Directors designation, a Masters of Business Administration, a Charter Accountants designation and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
