January 14, 2014 - Lunenburg, NS
Composites Atlantic has been in the business of designing, testing and manufacturing parts for the aeronautic, space and defence industries since 1993. Over the past 20 years, the Lunenburg firm has grown to employ more than 370 people—employees who work hard and work smart to meet demand for advanced composite components from the likes of Boeing, Airbus and Bombardier.
What keeps the company growing is its dedication to continuous improvement. For instance, this year Composites Atlantic will further sharpen its focus by engaging a specialist to evaluate its management and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. The specialist will assess planning, scheduling, and other processes and develop a plan to help drive the company’s growth into the future. The project will enable the firm to become more productive and competitive in responding to the heavy demand for lighter components.
ACOA Minister Rob Moore was onsite at Composites Atlantic today to tour its facilities and announce the Government of Canada’s $18,750 investment in the efficiency project through ACOA’s Business Development Program (BDP). Minister Moore was accompanied by Parliamentary Secretary Gerald Keddy, who is the local MP for South Shore-St. Margaret’s.
