Programming offers building blocks to successful future careers

January 27, 2014 - Charlottetown, PE

Fisheries and Oceans Minister Gail Shea and Innovation and Advanced Learning Minister Allen Roach today announced government support for Junior Achievement of Prince Edward Island (JAPEI).

The JAPEI programs are offered to students in elementary, junior and senior high schools. Programs are delivered by local volunteers from the business community.

The Government of Canada, through ACOA, is investing $82,500 in Junior Achievement to support the organization as it delivers valuable business programming to PEI students.
The Government of Prince Edward Island is investing $25,000 to continue its long-standing support of Junior Achievement on PEI.
Programming has grown significantly since Junior Achievement’s inception on the Island in 1985. The organization continues to seek new ways to raise its profile in the community and make stronger networking relationships with local business leaders and regional JA offices, and JA Canada.
JAPEI’s programming offers five modules: Our Community; Our Country; Our Business World; Economics for Success; and The Company Program. Island students benefit from valuable first-hand experience in what business and entrepreneurship has to offer as a future career.
