February 14, 2014 - Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird today announced funding for medical supplies and equipment in Ukraine.
Canada is helping to provide medical care for Ukrainian activists through a contribution to the International Renaissance Foundation, a Ukrainian non-governmental organization, for the purchase of medical supplies and equipment.
“This funding will ensure that medical treatment is provided to the courageous activists injured while speaking out in support of democracy,” said Baird. “Canada strongly supports the Ukrainian people in their fight for a free and democratic Ukraine.”
This announcement comes after Canada has continuously urged the Ukrainian government to find a political solution by engaging in a real dialogue with the people of Ukraine.
