Prime Minister Stephen Harper today announced that His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will travel to India from February 22 to March 2, 2014.
During his visit, the Governor General will meet with heads of state and government, senior government officials, business leaders and civil society, with a view to strengthening bilateral relations including commercial and educational ties.
Canada and India have longstanding bilateral relations built on shared values of democracy and pluralism, as well as close cooperation within the Commonwealth and the United Nations. In recent years, both countries have worked to enhance bilateral relations in several areas, including commerce, security, education, energy, science and technology, culture, and agriculture.
