HAMILTON, Ontario, March 18, 2014 — Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) wishes to advise motorists of traffic disruptions on the Burlington Canal Lift Bridge, located in Hamilton, Ontario, from 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19 until 7:00 a.m. on Friday, March 21. During this time, both southbound lanes will be closed. Traffic lights will be in place to direct motorists to cross the bridge one direction at a time using the two northbound lanes.
These lane closures are required to accommodate repairs to the metal grating of the bridge roadway. Following the repairs, all lanes will reopen. The schedule may change due to inclement weather or for logistical reasons.
Safety is a top priority for PWGSC and we are committed to ensuring the continued integrity of the bridges we manage. We apologize for any inconvenience these lane closures may cause and thank everyone for their understanding.
