March 13, 2014 – Winnipeg, Manitoba – Department of Canadian Heritage
Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, met with representatives of Aboriginal organizations today in Winnipeg to find out how they would like to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation. All Canadians are invited to have their say by completing an online questionnaire at Canada.ca/150.
“Aboriginal people have helped shape our country’s identity, and they continue to occupy a special place within Canada today. This is why I’m pleased to hear their ideas today about the 150th anniversary of Confederation. As we shape plans for this important event, I encourage Canadians from across this country to let our Government know how they want to celebrate Canada’s history, values, and traditions.”
