Minister Glover asks the question to New Brunswick’s Francophone and Acadian communities

March 22, 2014 – Moncton, New Brunswick – Department of Canadian Heritage

Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, conducted consultations in Moncton today to seek the views of New Brunswick’s Francophone and Acadian communities on how they would like to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation. Meanwhile, all Canadians can have their say by completing an online questionnaire at Canada.ca/150.

Quick Facts

Since December 2013, the Government of Canada has held 18 roundtables all across the country on the celebrations in 2017. Numerous people who are active in their communities and represent a wide range of organizations or groups were able to make their voices heard.
More than 8,000 Canadians have already completed the online questionnaire on Canada’s 150th anniversary.
The data collected will provide insight into the types of activities and projects that resonate most with Canadians and will help us plan the celebrations.
Over the next three years, as we approach the anniversary, we will celebrate key historic milestones that have defined our country.
