The Honourable Rob Nicholson, P.C., Q.C., M.P. for Niagara Falls, Minister of National Defence, is pleased to announce the re-appointment of Major-General Blaise Cathcart as the Canadian Forces Judge Advocate General (JAG).
For the past 24 years, Major-General Cathcart has served in a number of positions with the Office of the JAG. He served as the Deputy Legal Advisor and General Counsel – Military in the Office of the Legal Advisor to the Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), as the Deputy Judge Advocate General/Military Justice and Administrative Law, and as Deputy Judge Advocate General/Operations. He was first appointed JAG in April 2010 and was promoted to the rank of Major-General in October 2012.
