Project made possible thanks to federal Gas Tax Fund
March 7, 2014 – Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario – Infrastructure Canada
Officials gathered today to announce upcoming restoration work to Queenston Street Bridge, an important thoroughfare within the historic Village of Queenston.
Thanks to this investment, residents will soon benefit from a revitalized sidewalk and new decorative parapet walls on either side of the bridge. The life span of the existing structure, which will now be restored to its full vehicle load capacity, will also be expanded by patching, waterproofing and paving over the existing bridge deck.
These enhancements will help provide a safe and visually appealing crossing for vehicles, pedestrians and visitors alike for years to come.
