The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Criminal Investigations Section has laid four charges following a firearm seizure at the Coutts port of entry.
On September 13, 2013, CBSA officers examined Michael Hillyard’s vehicle and seized a prohibited 9mm handgun, a prohibited 9mm over-capacity magazine and a second 9mm magazine.
Hillyard, 38, of Sherwood Park, Alberta is facing charges under the Customs Act and the Criminal Code. His next court appearance is scheduled for April 9, 2014 in Lethbridge Provincial Court.
