Bernard Trottier, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Public Works and Government Services, on behalf of the Honourable Diane Finley, was pleased to announce today that the Government of Canada has awarded a contract to Toronto company Morgan Solar Inc. for its innovation, the Savanna™ tracker, through the Build in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP).
The Savanna™ tracker is a cost effective high-efficiency sun tracking system. Lightweight, self-stabilizing and robust this system will bring down the overall installation and development costs of solar panel installation. The turnkey system can be assembled with basic tools and without any prior knowledge of the product. The Savanna™ system eliminates the need for concrete foundations, cranes or other costly heavy machinery for both the setup and maintenance of the module.
The value of the contract awarded to Morgan Solar Inc. is approximately $305,000.
