Today, the Honourable Michelle Rempel, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification, announced $898,000 to support the Greater Victoria Development Agency (GVDA), through the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce (GVCC), in their efforts to bring international business and trade opportunities to Victoria.
These funds will be used to prepare greater Victoria small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to take advantage of international business opportunities, and showcase the area's unique strengths by: evaluating regional potential and matching that with international business opportunities; creating mentorship opportunities between current exporters and SMEs with strong export potential; creating marketing materials; and undertaking trade missions.
The project will be carried out by the GVDA, the region's economic development office, and will involve a number of stakeholders and project partners working together to strengthen the local economy.
