On March 30, 2014, at approximately 3:00 p.m., a modified routine was put in place at Warkworth Institution, a medium security federal institution, as a precautionary measure after some inmates showed symptoms of a respiratory virus.
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is working with health authorities in order to resolve the situation as soon as possible.
Regularly scheduled visits may be affected. Visitors who have already planned a visit are asked to contact the Visits and Correspondence Department at the institution directly.
CSC is committed to controlling and managing infectious diseases in correctional facilities to protect the health of inmates, staff and ultimately the community.
