Ottawa - is Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will deliver the closing address at the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC) 2014 Conference, on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at 4:15 p.m., at the Ottawa Convention Centre.
Following his closing address, the Governor General will take part in a question-and-answer period with conference participants.
Collaboration, Innovation, Transformation is the theme for the 2014 Conference, which is being hosted by Algonquin College and La Cité. The conference will provide an opportunity for participants to focus on and discuss current issues and trends in higher education. Leading-edge practices in teaching and learning, governance and leadership will be discussed, as well as how innovative college partnerships support communities and economic growth.
Established in 1972, as the Association of Canadian Community Colleges, ACCC is changing its name to Colleges and Institutes Canada, starting May 28, 2014. The association is the national and international voice of 95 per cent of Canada’s publicly funded colleges and institutes, and all of its polytechnics. They work with industry and social sectors to train 1.5 million learners of all ages and backgrounds at campuses serving over 3 000 urban, rural and remote communities in Canada.
