Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) has a mandate to promote awareness and appreciation among Canadians for the achievements and sacrifices made by those who have served Canada. The Commemorative Partnership Program expands the reach of VAC’s remembrance programming by providing funding through:
Eligible recipients in Canada and abroad:
- Non-profit organizations, registered charitable organizations and associations;
- Museums and historical organizations;
- Provinces, territories and municipalities; education, research and health institutions; and
- For-profit organizations planning to undertake not-for-profit remembrance activities and the restoration of cenotaphs/monuments.
Eligible projects, both within Canada and abroad:
- Research and studies;
- Development and provision of commemorative education and information;
- Organization and development of commemorative events;
- Learning initiatives; and
- Restoration of existing commemorative cenotaphs/monuments, including any addition to them.
The quarterly deadlines to submit applications are the first business day of April, July, October and January. Applications must be submitted at least three months prior to the event date or project start date and by the relevant deadline date. Applications for Veterans’ Week (November 5 – 11) events/projects must be submitted by the first business day of September.
