The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced today the arrest of a foreign national in violation of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA).
Enrique Guillermo Salazar Rodríguez entered Canada on July 12, 2012, and was admitted as temporary resident for six months. On May 13, 2014, Salazar was arrested by the CBSA as an overstay in violation of section 44 of IRPA. He was issued a removal order.
Salazar is currently in detention and is to appear again before the Immigration and Refugee Board on Thursday, May 22, 2014.
