May 21, 2014 – Rimouski, Quebec – Canada Economic Development
The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR) and the Interdisciplinary Center for the Development of Ocean Mapping (CIDCO) have been granted funding to pursue their activities in applied research and technology transfer to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The assistance, which totals $1.5 million, has been awarded in the form of non-repayable contributions—$660,000 to CIDCO and $834,800 to UQAR—through Canada Economic Development’s Quebec Economic Development Program.
“By lending its financial support to the Interdisciplinary Center for the Development of Ocean Mapping and Université du Québec à Rimouski, our Government is giving a major boost to scientific research, to innovative enterprises and thus to economic growth.”
