Today the Honourable Michelle Rempel, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification announced $2.4 million in support of the University of Manitoba (U of M) to increase skills development and technology commercialization in Winnipeg through the Advanced Satellite Integration Facility (ASIF).
Western Economic Diversification Canada’s funding will help establish the U of M as a leader in the area of space systems engineering and enable partners to access growing market opportunities in the aerospace industry, estimated at $200 million over the next 10 years.
