Wainwright, Alta – Media are invited to Garrison Wainwright, Alberta, May 30, 2014, to cover Exercise MAPLE RESOLVE 2014 (Ex MR 14), the largest Canadian Army exercise of 2014.
With approximately 4,000 Canadian Army soldiers, 450 Royal Canadian Air Force members, 450 American troops, and 100 British soldiers participating, Ex MR 14 is the culminating collective training event that will validate both of the Canadian Army’s High Readiness task forces – Task Force 1- 14 and Task Force 2-14. Upon validation these task forces will be on-call, at a moment’s notice, to deploy on international operations as assigned by the Government of Canada.
When: May 30 at 9:00 a.m.
Where: Garrison Wainwright, Alberta
What: Media will be able to visit and speak with troops taking part in the exercise and will be given a tour of the exercise “battle-space” in aircraft and Canadian Army vehicles.
Ex MR 14 is held within an immersive training environment. In mock villages spread throughout the 62,000 hectare training area, soldiers and civilian actors portray local, regional, and national forces, municipal leadership, civilians, refugees and any other character that make the training as real as possible.
