The NFB's Canadian Francophonie Studio announces the finalists in the Tremplin 2014 contest. Six finalists were chosen to represent Acadie and six were selected to represent Central and Western Canada.
The Acadie finalists are:
• Marie-Ève Cormier from Moncton, NB
• Stéphanie David from Dieppe, NB
• Lynne Dauphinee from Dartmouth, NS
• Sylvestre Dion from Northport, NS
• Justin Guitard from Moncton, NB
• Francine Hébert from Cocagne, NB
The Central and Western Canada finalists are:
• Katia Café-Fébrissy from Toronto, ON
• Simon D'Amours from Whitehorse, YK
• Anyes Dimsdale from Fort Simpson, NT
• Marie Ka from North Vancouver, BC
• Alexandre Loukos from Toronto, ON
• Christos Tsirbas from Toronto, ON
All Tremplin contest finalists will have the chance to participate in NFB training workshops from May 28 to 31, taking place in Toronto for Central and Western Canada finalists and in Moncton for Acadie finalists.
The three-day program includes a screenwriting workshop, with Renée Blanchar in Moncton and Luc Bourdon in Toronto, as well as image and sound workshops.
The names of the four Tremplin 2014 winners—two from Acadie and two from Central and Western Canada—will be announced in mid-August. They will be given the opportunity to produce a professional 20-minute documentary short, which will be broadcast on Ici Radio-Canada, the official partner of the Tremplin contest.
Quick Facts
The Tremplin contest is open to emerging French-speaking filmmakers residing outside Quebec seeking to make a first or second professional documentary.
The contest is part of the NFB's mandate to discover and promote emerging Canadian documentary filmmaking talent. By providing access to hands-on film production experience, the competition allows winners to cross an important threshold in their film careers.
Now in its eighth year, the pan-Canadian competition is a collaborative initiative with Radio-Canada.

All films produced for the Tremplin competition are broadcasted on Radio-Canada. Short films made by past Tremplin winners have had successful screenings at such festivals as the Festival international du cinéma francophone en Acadie – seven awards, including two for Daniel Léger's Un dimanche à 105 ans (A Sunday at 105), one of the most popular films on ONF.ca – , the Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal and the Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois, where Emma fait son cinéma by Mélanie Léger just won the award for Best Franco-Canadian Film.
