Statement by the Minister of National Defence on the Canadian Armed Forces Recognition Program

OTTAWA – The Honourable Rob Nicholson, P.C., Q.C., M.P. for Niagara Falls and Minister of National Defence, issued the following statement today:

“I am proud to welcome to Ottawa the 12 outstanding Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members being recognized for going above and beyond the requirements of their duties. The Recognition Program acknowledges our men and women in uniform for saving lives while abroad on operations and while here at home, for supporting the Aboriginal community, or for inspiring youth through the Canadian Cadet Organizations. These members deserve our praise and our gratitude. They have displayed great dedication and professionalism throughout their careers in their service to Canada. Through their example, they give us keen insight into the quality of the men and women in the CAF who put others before themselves, in the defence and interests of Canada.”
