Investment helping chocolate company meet increased demand for products

The Newfoundland Chocolate Company is enjoying the sweet taste of success as it expands its business to meet production demands at its Duckworth Street Chocolaterie in downtown St. John’s. The artisan chocolate maker has been producing a unique array of premium chocolates by hand since 2009 using locally sourced ingredients, such as Newfoundland and Labrador berries.
To support the Newfoundland Chocolate Company’s continued business growth, the Honourable Rob Moore, Regional Minister for Newfoundland and Labrador and Minister of State (Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency), announced an investment of $58,675. The funding enabled the company to acquire new equipment, undertake building renovations and carry out marketing activities, which has enhanced operational efficiency to meet the demand for its specialty chocolates, as well as better position the business to expand into new product offerings.
