GATINEAU, Quebec – Canadian Heritage invites the media to a sneak preview and photo opportunity of the Canada Day 2014 programming on Mondayin Jacques-Cartier Park and Major’s Hill Park.
The schedule of the advanced photo opportunity on Monday, June 30, 2014, is as follows:
11:30 a.m.
The 2014Canada Day Challenge winners will be on site at the outdoor exhibit of their artwork. (Marina entrance, down from the Maurice Richard statue).
ACTIVITY INFO:
Using their creativity and imagination, youth from all across Canada took up the challenge to explore Canada’s history, culture, and identity and to discover what makes this country a truly special place. See what makes the winners of the 2014 Canada Day Challenge proud to be Canadian through art, photography, and creative writing.

Media can take images of the giant P.E.I. sand sculpture being crafted (Main bowl, near the Canada Day Challenge exhibit).
ACTIVITY INFO:
A giant sand sculpture will be created to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the 1864 Charlottetown Conference that led to Canada’s Confederation. In collaboration with Festival Merveilles de sable de Gatineau

Media can take images of Canada’s SkyHawks doing their practice jump (the parachute team will be landing in Jacques-Cartier Park north).
ACTIVITY INFO:
Look up, look way up! The SkyHawks will demonstrate their parachuting skills by landing in Jacques-Cartier Park. Presented by the Canadian Forces.

ACTIVITY INFO:
Elite freestyle skiing, snowboarding, and trampoline athletes perform "big air" manoeuvres to high-energy beats—an entertaining combination of action and athleticism. After the show, meet the athletes for pictures and autographs.
