Quotes:
“Our Government understands the importance trade plays in strengthening the economy of Atlantic Canada. Helping to foster import and export relationships with other nations, like Barbados, will help our region’s small and medium-sized businesses expand their trade capabilities in the global marketplace and secure long-term prosperity.”
- The Honourable Rob Moore, Minister of State (Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency)
“As two small jurisdictions, the country of Barbados and the province of Prince Edward Island share similarities that contribute to a successful partnership that continues to expand. Trade between our two regions has more than doubled in the past five years, primarily in the agriculture sector. We are now working to broaden this relationship through additional sectors to achieve our collective goal of economic growth for our islands.”
- The Honourable Allen Roach, PEI Minister of Innovation and Advanced Learning
“Our Chamber entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2011 in order to foster partnerships and grow our private sectors. The connections made through these trade missions are resulting in sound business relationships between Prince Edward Island and Bajan companies.”
- Mr. Quentin Bevan, President, Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce
