The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced today a significant seizure of over 16 kg of suspected cocaine at the Toronto Pearson International Airport (TPIA).
On May 30, 2014, CBSA officers at TPIA conducted an in-depth examination of all cargo arriving on a flight from Lima, Peru. Officers observed anomalies while X-raying a shipment of 10 boxes. Officers opened the boxes and found garbage bags filled with 15 sealed bricks. The bricks’ contents field tested positive for suspected cocaine.
The packages of suspected cocaine were turned over to the Peel Regional Police and the investigation is ongoing.
