“As Canadians, we have a lot to be proud of. Whether it is our country, our bilingualism, our artists, or our heritage, on the road to 2017, Canada’s 150th anniversary, I encourage you to celebrate everything that makes this the united, strong and free country we live in today.”
—The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages
“I am proud to be a part of a government that supports events which bring together thousands of people to honour our country and our diverse heritage. Let’s continue to celebrate all the things that make Canada great.”
—The Honourable Gary Goodyear, Minister of State (Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario) and Member of Parliament (Cambridge–North Dumfries)
"Thanks to the grant that our association received from Canadian Heritage for our Franco/Fête on June 21, we will be able to present, among other artists, a talented magician who will please everyone in the Francophone community. The support is greatly appreciated.”
—Suzette Hafner, President of the Association des Francophones de Kitchener–Waterloo.
“On behalf of the Cambridge Celebrates Canada Day Committee, we are extremely pleased to be selected for funding by Canadian Heritage. Without the continued support, this event would not happen. This is our 40th year of celebrating Canada Day in Cambridge, and the event continues to get better and better. We continue to be able to provide free events all day, so that Canadians can celebrate in Cambridge. We look forward to many more years of celebrating in Cambridge. Thanks on behalf of all of Cambridge.”
