Project being made possible thanks to partnership between the governments of Canada and Alberta and the City of Lethbridge
June 24, 2014 – Lethbridge, Alberta – Infrastructure Canada
The City of Lethbridge was delighted today to show off the progress being made on the construction of the region's newest multi-sport complex, the Crossings Ice Complex.
Once completed next year, the complex, located at the corner of Britannia Boulevard and Mauretania Road West, will be approximately 11,600 square metres and will include two ice surfaces, ten sheets of curling ice, viewing areas, spectator seating, dressing rooms, and food and beverage services. Lethbridge curlers will benefit from better ice conditions, thanks to a new ice plant and dehumidification system, as well as updated locker rooms, more space for a pro shop, multi-purpose rooms, updated kitchen facilities and a lounge.
The new complex will allow Lethbridge to attract regional, provincial, and national tournaments, and special events, which will contribute to the City's economic prosperity. The facility will also provide increased opportunities for existing organizations as well as groups from the surrounding region to practice and play.
