Equipment and building upgrades will provide opportunities for international growth
June 25, 2014 – Lower Woods Harbour, NS – Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency
Dixon’s Marine Group 2000 Inc. is continuing its expansion into international markets. Specialists in fishing and pleasure craft boat building and design for over thirty years, the boatyard’s pleasure and commercial vessels are built to withstand the harsh winter fishing conditions in southwestern Nova Scotia.
In response to growing demand for larger vessels, particularly in the United States, Dixon’s Marine has purchased a hydraulic trailer and yard jockey that will allow this family-owned business to haul vessels up to 60 feet in size. In addition, Dixon’s will be completing facility enhancements in order to accommodate this equipment.
The Government of Canada, through ACOA’s Business Development Program, is providing a repayable contribution of $175,000 to support equipment and facility, as announced today by Parliamentary Secretary Gerald Keddy.
