Today, on Clean Air Day, Minister Aglukkaq announced more than $1.4 million in funding for science initiatives under the Clean Air Regulatory Agenda. In all, seven universities will receive funding for 13 projects that will contribute to the body of knowledge for effective action to improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
The Clean Air Regulatory Agenda was established in 2006 to support Government of Canada efforts to improve the environment and health of Canadians by reducing GHG and air pollutant emissions. Its objectives are achieved through funding for science, reporting, policy analysis, regulatory development, and action to improve indoor air quality.
