Independent investigation concludes procedures and directives were followed

The Government of Canada today released the report of an independent investigation into contracting practices at the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI). The investigation was conducted at the request of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, following allegations of irregular contracting practices at JCCBI in the early 2000s.
The Government of Canada takes all allegations of wrongdoing seriously and, as such, requested that JCCBI undertake an independent investigation into the allegations. The mandate was given to an independent committee that concluded that all procedures and directives in place at the time were followed.
