Dave MacKenzie, Member of Parliament for Oxford, on behalf of Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz, announced today an investment of over $1 million to the Canadian Swine Exporters Association (CSEA) to help boost international recognition of Canada's superior purebred swine genetics.
This investment will help CSEA members increase awareness of the value and quality of Canadian swine by participating in key international trade shows and leading targeted trade missions. It will also ensure that Canada remains a world leader in swine genetics, particularly in attributes that improve meat quality, feed efficiency, environmental issues, and biosecurity.

With the funding received and the assistance from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and the Growing Forward 2 Market Development Stream, we are actively exporting purebred swine genetics to many countries worldwide. We are proud of our Canadian swine breeders, who are producing the best quality, high-health swine genetics in the world. The exporting activity, through the members of Canadian Swine Exporters Association, keeps our swine industry viable and creates jobs for Canadians. We are thankful for the funding we have received which helps us be a world leader with a respected reputation."
