Today, the Honourable Michelle Rempel, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification, announced support for several community infrastructure projects across northern Manitoba under the Government of Canada’s Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).
In Economic Action Plan 2012, the Harper Government announced support of $150 million over a two year period to help communities across the country modernize their infrastructure. The Fund supported projects that improved existing community infrastructure accessible for use by the public, such as community centres, recreational buildings, local arenas, cultural and other community facilities.

Through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF), the Harper Government has committed to creating jobs and supporting communities through repairs and improvements to existing community facilities. Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) is delivering the Fund in Western Canada with an allocation of $46.2 million over two years.
