CFS St. John’s –The Honourable Greg Rickford, Minister of Natural Resources and Minister for the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario, on behalf of the Honourable Rob Nicholson, Minister of National Defence, today announced the official opening of the new consolidated facility at Canadian Forces Station St. John’s.
This project, comprising five contracts, represents an infrastructure investment of approximately $156 million and the creation of approximately 700 jobs for the local community. The Government of Canada remains committed to the renewal of defence facilities and associated infrastructure, while ensuring the best value possible for Canadian taxpayers.
“The consolidated facility at Pleasantville breathes new life into Canadian Forces Station St. John’s and represents a new start for the units now moved into this efficient and modern building. Investing in cost-effective facilities is a Government priority, one that enables our personnel to perform their work in state-of-the-art workspace. These important infrastructure projects will ensure that CFS St. John’s can continue with their operations long into the future.”
