OTTAWA– Captain Adam Runge, in the 2014 CF-18 Demonstration Hornet fighter jet, followed by the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, led by Major Patrick Gobeil, will conduct Canada Day flybys over Parliament Hill starting around noon on July 1, 2014.
The aircraft will be flown over Parliament Hill at an altitude no lower than 500 feet above the highest point in the vicinity. The Snowbirds will remain in Ottawa to make a brief appearance and sign autographs at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum from 2 to 4 p.m. before returning to their home base at 15 Wing, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
The Royal Canadian Air Force is proud to be a part of the Canada Day celebrations in the nation’s capital this year. Flybys by RCAF aircraft are carefully planned and closely controlled to ensure public safety at all times.
Celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, the RCAF continues to embrace its motto, Sic Itur Ad Astra (Such is the pathway to the stars), fuelled by our extraordinary legacy.
