July 4, 2014 – Ottawa, ON – Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) has published REGDOC-2.2.3, Personnel Certification: Radiation Safety Officers.
This document provides guidance for completing an application and describes the process for certification of a radiation safety officer (RSO) for licensees who operate Class II facilities or service prescribed equipment. The document explains what should be provided in an application form in order for the CNSC to assess if the applicant has the qualifications to be certified as a radiation safety officer and helps the CNSC plan and conduct the certification examination.
The CNSC regulates the use of nuclear energy and materials to protect the health, safety and security of Canadians and the environment; to implement Canada’s international commitments on the peaceful use of nuclear energy; and to disseminate objective scientific, technical and regulatory information to the public.
