July 29, 2014 – Mississauga, Ontario – Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario)
Today, FedDev Ontario Minister Gary Goodyear, accompanied by local MP Parm Gill, toured the Wild Wetland Splash and Pool facility at Heart Lake Conservation Area in Brampton, Ontario. Located in natural wilderness surroundings, the impressive swimming space utilizes state-of-the-art water conservation technology, is home to over 30 wetland-themed water features, and can accommodate up to 550 facility users at one time.
Through the Recreational Infrastructure Canada (RInC) program in Ontario, the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority received a federal investment of $533,000 toward total project costs of up to $1,600,000. The funding supported the installation of a new swimming pool and deck area, implementation of high-efficiency plumbing and mechanical infrastructure, and renovation of existing washroom, change room and staff facilities.
Since 2009, FedDev Ontario has acted as a co-investor and champion for southern Ontario communities, businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and social enterprises by strategically investing in projects that help build a strong foundation for long-term economic growth and actively promoting the region and its attributes.
